Top legislator greets Australian Ambassador

VGP – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan hosted a reception for Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam Craig Chittick on November 22 in Ha Noi.

Chairwoman Ngan discussed with Ambassador Craig Chittick an upcoming official visit to Australia by a high-ranking delegation from the Vietnamese National Assembly. The host leader thanked the Australian National Assembly and Government for the official invitation. 

The host leader took the occasion to thank the Australian Government and Parliament for their invitation and the ambassador for his close cooperation with Viet Nam’s relevant agencies to prepare for the visit.

Ms. Ngan also expressed her impression on the country and people of Australia where many Vietnamese students have chosen to pursue their study.

In reply, the Australian Ambassador underlined that the coming visit, led by NA Chairwoman Ngan, takes place after Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull just attended the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Meeting in the central city of Da Nang.

On the occasion, the two countries’ leaders expressed their delights at the sound development of the bilateral relations towards a strategic partnership, he noted.

He stressed that Ngan’s official visit to Australia will help boost relations between the two countries to a new height, while the participation of Vietnamese businesses will contribute to enhancing bilateral economic and trade ties./.
