Top legislator embarks on official visit to China
VGP – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan led a high-ranking delegation to the People’s Republic of China from July 8-12 at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Li Zhanshu.

The top legislator is accompanied by Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam, Chairman of the NA's Committee for External Affairs, and Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Nguyen Van Giau, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Phan Thanh Binh, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, and Vice Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Tran Luu Quang.
The visit of Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan is the first overseas tour of a Vietnamese Party and State leader to China after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the first visit to China as the top legislator.
Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi announced that Chinese Party and State leaders extremely attach importance to the official visit.
The visit represents that the Party and State of Viet Nam extremely attach importance to the traditional ties and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China; hoping to build and develop the relations between the two legislative branches to a new height; consolidate political confidence.
The visit also aims to materialize the cooperative agreement between the National Assembly of Viet Nam and the National People’s Congress.
Chairwoman Ngan will discuss with Chinese high-ranking leaders on measures to cement and deepen the comprehensive cooperation in specific areas and orientations for cooperation in the coming time./.
