Top leader chairs Politburo meeting
VGP – Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting of the Politburo on May 15 to discuss preparations for the upcoming 10th plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee, the 7th working session of the 14th National Assembly and other important issues.

The top Vietnamese leaders spoke highly of the efforts made by inferior levels in actively and seriously preparing for the PCC’s plenum and the Legislature’s working session.
He underlined the importance of the next Legislature’s working session as lawmakers will debate and approve a number of draft laws and resolutions. Therefore, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government and relevant agencies need to continue thorough preparations and innovate the organization of the session to ensure effectiveness and save time.
Toward the 13th National Party Congress, Party chief Trong called for greater and closer care for directing Party congresses at all levels that will be held in 2019 and 2020, from contents to personnel work while regular duties must not be neglected.
Trong required organs of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, the Fatherland Front as well as mass organizations to ensure closer and more promptly coordination for smooth and efficient operation of the Party and State apparatus.
