Mr. Hai said he hopes the Viet Nam National Oil and Gas Group and the Timor Leste National Oil Group to implement future cooperation activities.

For his part, Pinto said Timor Leste is focusing on developing agriculture, fisheries, mining and tourism and wants more investors from Viet Nam to visit and seek business cooperation opportunities in the country.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Timor Leste’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment signed a memorandum of understanding on rice trade.

This year, Viet Nam imported goods worth roughly US$31 million from Timor Leste and exported US$34 million, ranking sixth among 35 countries that export to the country, according to the MoIT.
