Three new breathtaking grottoes discovered in central province

VGP – Three more breath-taking and gigantic grottoes have been discovered in Tân Hóa Commune of Minh Hóa District in the central province of Quảng Bình, confirmed Mr. Đinh Minh Chất, Chairman of the Minh Hóa District People’s Committee.

Stalactite in the grotto of Tú Làn.

The grottoes look like the Tiên Sơn Grotto in the Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, the UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site.

The grottoes were named Small Tố Mộ, Large Tố Mộ, and Tú Làn. The Small Tố Mộ, covering an area of 2,000 square meters, has a 20-m-high entrance and a cupola of the same height. Its stalactites look so wonderful.

In the Large Tố Mộ, apart from gigantic stalactites, human and animal remains, ancient ceramic shards were also found. Thus, the grotto is surmised to be a residence of pre-historic people.

Particularly, the Tú Làn Grotto is 50 m wide, 20-25 m high, and 600 m long, with a number of stalactites resembling the deer, tigers or dragons. Moreover, the grotto has three separate one-diameter stalagmites standing imposing, up to the ceiling.

According to Mr. Đinh Minh Chất, tours to the grottoes will be opened soon.
