Three foreign nationals among 53 new COVID-19 cases

VGP – Viet Nam confirmed 53 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the national patient tally to 2,195.

The latest cases comprise 49 local infections and four imported cases, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The local infections were reported in Hai Duong (47) and Ho Chi Minh City (2).

Specifically, patient 2144 is a 26-year-old man in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 12.

The man, who is a part-time employee at the Viet Nam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS) located in Ho Chi Minh City.

He is being treated at the city’s Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 2145 is a 46-year-old woman in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 12.

She contracted the virus from patient 2144 and is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Patients 2143, 2150-2195 are residents in Hai Duong Province. Of these 43 are F1 individuals who had been quarantined before being tested positive.

Regarding the imported cases, patient 2146 is a 55-year-old woman in Da Nang’s Thanh Khe District.

She flew from the U.S. to the Republic of Korea and then took flight VN417 to Ho Chi Minh City on January 28.

The patient is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 2147 is a 39-year-old American man who flew from the U.S. to Hong Kong and then took flight CX799 to Ho Chi Minh City on February 9.

He is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 2148 is a 39-year-old Taiwanese woman who landed in Ho Chi Minh City on January 28 on flight CI783.

She is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 2149 is an eight-year-old Korean girl who flew from the Republic of Korea to Ho Chi Minh City on January 29 on flight KE683.

He is being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital.

Of the national tally, 1,531 have recovered and exited hospitals while 35 others have been reported dead.

The nation is placing 129,098 people under medical surveillance and quarantine nationwide, including 762 at hospitals, 19,476 at concentrated quarantine sites, and 108,860 at places of residence./.
