Team founded to negotiate bird flu control project with WB
VNGOVNet – On behalf of the PM, Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng agreed on January 30 to establish an interdisciplinary team to negotiate with the World Bank the Project "Bird flu and human influenza control and epidemic prevention in Vietnam" which has a budget of US$ 38 million.
The team’s membership includes representatives from the ministries of Planning and Investment, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Health, Foreign Affairs, the State Bank of Vietnam, and the Government Office.
The Standing Deputy PM authorized the Deputy Head of the State Bank's International Cooperation Department, Đặng Anh Mai, to act as the team's leader on the part of the Vietnamese Government who will not have to submit to the PM every document closed from negotiation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall fulfill the procedure of informing the other negotiating partner of the Prime Minister authorization.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Health shall collaborate with the relevant agencies in reviewing and completing project terms for negotiation as required by the World Bank.
The State Bank of Vietnam shall also work with the concerned bodies to prepare project documents with all terms for negotiation included and report to the PM the negotiation results.
The negotiation is expected to last for one week, starting on February 5, 2007.
