Invested by Tata Coffee Vietnam, a member of India’s Tata Coffee Limited, the factory covers an area of 8ha, and costs nearly US$60 million. It will supply instant coffee with a new flavour to Vietnamese customers and for export.

Deputy Chairman of Binh Dương People’s Committee Dang Minh Hung said Tata Coffee Limited’s investment matched with the province’s policies and orientation of calling for investment. The province would always support and create favourable conditions for the company.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam Parvathaneni Harish said bilateral trade between the two countries has witnessed impressive growth in recent years. In 2016, the two sides’ trade turnover reached $5.4 billion.

However, this result is still moderate compared with the potential of the two countries. Indian businesses have invested nearly $1.3 billion, of which the instant coffee plant in Binh Duong Province is one of the largest projects in Viet Nam.

This is the second project invested by Tata Coffee Limited in Viet Nam.
