Switzerland pledges to aid VN

VNGOP – Vice President Trương Mỹ Hoa received on July 15 in Hà Nội Ms. Doris Leuthard, Swiss Federal Councilor for Economic Affairs who is leading a visiting delegation of businesses to Việt Nam.

Vice President Trương Mỹ Hoa receives Councilor Doris Leuthard

Vice State President Trương Mỹ Hoa expected that the Councilor's visit will further promote the good multifaceted friendship between Việt Nam and the Swiss Confederation, especially economic and trade ties. The Vice President applauded and thanked Switzerland's support to Việt Nam over the past time. Not only doing business and production in Việt Nam, many Swiss enterprises have also proactively engaged in charitable activities, including poverty reduction, assisting the disabled children and victims of natural calamities. The Vietnamese State leader showed her hope that the Swiss business delegation will find more chances of cooperation. She emphasized that the Vietnamese Government always pledges to further perfect its legal system as a good foundation for foreign investors for operate in Việt Nam.

Councilor Doris Leuthard expressed her impression on Việt Nam's socio-economic achievements, especially in poverty alleviation. She revealed that Swiss businesses highly valued Việt Nam's investment potentialities and environment. During her visit to Việt Nam, the two sides have come to some commitments in which Switzerland pledged to support Việt Nam in some fields, such as water source management and use, intellectual property protection, and aids to post-WTO Việt Nam... Swiss companies promised to of long-term investment in Việt Nam in finance, machinery manufacturing, services and processing industry.
