A representative from SkeriNova Holding explains technologies to build high-speed railway

SkeriNova Holding group, which specializes in transportation and construction, has successfully undertaken many similar projects in Sweden.

The group proposes to carry out the project under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) method with the total estimated investment capital of US $45 billion. Việt Nam is in charge of site clearance and building rails for the expressway. Apart from supplying trains and relating equipment, SkeriNova will be responsible for operation process to carry passengers and cargo.

Under the group’s plan, the main 1,700-km route, linking Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City, will be built with the technology for high-speed magnetic cushion trains, which can run 200–400 km per hour.

SkeriNova has introduced the RO-RO technology using multi-functional coaches for transporting both passengers and goods. This will be the first cargo-passenger express railway in the world.

The main route will be linked with sub-routes in Hà Nội and Hồ Chí Minh City. It also connects Việt Nam’s three major ports of Hải Phòng, Đà Nẵng and Hồ Chí Minh City and the trans-Asia railway network running from China to Singapore through Việt Nam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
