Sunday’s COVID-19 tally reaches 5,926

VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed 2,828 new infection cases this evening, raising COVID-19 count on Sunday to 5,926.

The latest patients include 21 imported cases: Five Chinese nationals, two Japanese, one Malaysian national, one Slovenian national,  and 16 Vietnamese returnees, of whom six brought home from Russia, one returning via the Ha Tien international border gate in Kien Giang province, one from Thailand, one from China, two from Indonesia, one from Chinese Taipei.

All the others are domestic infections in Ho Chi Minh City (2,310), Dong Nai (72), Dong Thap (65), Binh Duong (64), Da Nang (46), Long An (41), Phu Yen (39), Binh Thuan (37), Ha Noi (33), Khanh Hoa (31), Can Tho (14), Hung Yen (13), Kien Giang (9), Binh Phuoc (7), Nghe An (5), Quang Ngai (4), Ninh Thuan (4), Bac Ninh (3), Binh Đinh (2), Ha Nam (2), Lam Đong (1), Thua Thien-Hue (1), Bac Giang (1), Soc Trang (1), Đak Lak (1), and Hai Phong (1). Of these, 2,108 case were detected in quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

The above cases bring the national caseload to 53,830.

The same day, the ministry reported that 355 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recovered cases to 10,667.

It also announced that there were 29 Coronavirus-related fatalities from July 4-17, sending the death toll to 254./.
