State President welcomes newly-accredited Ambassadors

VGP – State President Truong Tan Sang on November 13 received newly-accredited Ambassadors from Laos, Ghana and Macedonia who presented their credentials to the State President in Ha Noi.

Meeting with Lao Ambassador Phonsavan Phomvihane, State President Sang congratulated Laos on assuming the ASEAN Chair in 2016, hoping that the neighboring country would successfully organize its10th National Party Congress in early 2016.

Mr. Phonsavan Phomvihane affirmed that the Party, State and people of Laos always treasures Viet Nam’s wholehearted assistance during its national development process.

The Lao diplomat affirmed that he will do his utmost to strengthen the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting with Ghana’s Ambassador Benjamin Clement Eghan, the State President confirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to expanding cooperation with African countries, including Ghana.

He thanked Ghana for advocating Viet Nam to become a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council and run for a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.

The State President proposed the two countries would further their cooperation in other areas, including telecommunications and agriculture.

Ambassador Benjamin Clement Eghan suggested the two countries intensify people-to-people contacts and encourage their businesses to exchange information and seek for further cooperative opportunities.

Macedonian Ambassador Ilija Isajlovski conveyed the Macedonian President’s invitation to State President Sang, affirming that the high-ranking delegation exchanges are crucial to beef up the multifaceted relations between the two sides. 

He suggested that the two sides set up representative office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in each nation in a bid to strengthen mutual trade and investment linkages.

The State President urged the two nations’ relevant agencies to actively prepare for the upcoming visit of Macedonian President to Viet Nam, which is expected to open a new chapter in the two sides’ relationship.
