State President receives new Ambassadors

VGP - State President Truong Tan Sang on March 5 welcomed the newly-accredited Ambassadors from Peru, Russia, Algeria, and Brazil to Viet Nam.

March 06, 2015 10:28 AM GMT+7

Receiving the first Ambassador of Peru to Viet Nam Oscar Berninzon, the State President expected that the two sides will enhance delegation exchange, establish the Inter-Governmental Committee to promote economic and trade as well as closely coordinate at international forums.
The State leader expressed his hope that Peru will support Viet Nam to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure.

The Ambassador suggested Viet Nam open an Embassy in Peru and the two sides boost up cooperation in terms of agriculture, garment, telecommunications, culture and tourism in the future.

Welcoming Russian Ambassador Konstantin Vnukov, State President Sang highlighted the two countries’ relationship which has been developed over the past 65 years.
He urged for the early signing of a free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, which is expected to raise the bilateral trade more than US$10 billion.
The Russian diplomat asserted to do his utmost to push up the cooperation in such fields as trade, oil and gas, nuclear power, and military engineering.

At his reception for Algerian Ambassador Mohamed Berrah, the State President recommended the two countries strengthen delegation exchanges, closely coordinate at international and regional forums as well as encourage their businesses to expand investment in oil and gas.
Mr. Mohamed Berrah hoped that the two sides will share experience and accelerate cooperation in all areas for the sake of both.

Receiving Brazilian Ambassador Marco Antonio, State President Truong Tan Sang affirmed that Viet Nam attaches importance to cooperation with Brazil and sent his invitation to the Brazilian President to pay an official visit to Viet Nam.

The two sides should promote cooperation in potential areas such as investment, culture and tourism and sign more agreements to enhance their cooperation, he proposed.

Brazil considers Viet Nam as one of the most crucial partners in Asia, said the Ambassador, adding that he will try his efforts to step up the bilateral relations.
