The State President spoke highly of the topics raised and the outcomes gained in the meeting, and proposed the two sides focus on key issues and bring into full play their active roles in planning and coordinating cooperation efforts in line with the agreements reached as well as common perception of the two countries’ senior leaders.

The host leader emphasized that the enhancement of political trust plays an important role in maintaining the relations between the two Parties and countries.

The two sides should guide the implementation of high-level agreements, especially the action program on implementing the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, while respecting their respective legitimate benefits, he said.

Mr. Sang proposed the two sides early establish working groups on infrastructure and monetary cooperation to boost cooperation projects, and beef up economic and trade linkages with regard to ensuring balance, quality and effectiveness.

The State President also highlighted the importance of the sea issue for each country and the two countries’ relations, saying that the issue is not only between the two Parties and countries, but also between the people of Viet Nam and China.

For his part, Chinese State Councillor Yang Jiechi affirmed that the Party and State of China attach importance to the relationship with Viet Nam and wish to develop the neighbourly friendship and comprehensive cooperation further.

The satisfactory settlement of differences at sea is in the fundamental interest of the two countries’ people and contributes to stability and development in the region, said Mr. Yang Jiechi.

The guest leader was convinced that the contents reached in the meeting would contribute to developing the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a healthy and sustainable manner./.
