The meeting was organized on June 27 in Minsk on the occasion of the Vietnamese State President’s official visit to Belarus.

The two sides hailed the dynamic development in Viet Nam-Belarus relationship, especially in the context that the two nations are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

Mr. Quang praised the effective cooperation between the two parliaments in making laws, supporting each other at multi-lateral forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and cooperation between the two national assemblies’ committees.

He expected that the Belarusian Parliament will actively establish and complete the legal foundation for bilateral cooperation and supervise the implementation of the inked agreements between the two Governments and enhance locality cooperation.

The State President called on the two legislative bodies to oversee the execution of the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union and a protocol on supporting the production of motorized transport vehicles in Viet Nam, striving to bring two-way trade to US$500 million in the next two years, he noted.

He hailed the first vehicle manufacturing joint venture between Viet Nam and Belarus as the start of a new period in bilateral economic partnership and stressed both countries’ commitments to facilitating local enterprises to access the other country’s market.

For his part, Vladimir Andreichenko confirmed to promote the bilateral cooperation in defense-security, science-technology, culture-sport-tourism, education and locality partnerships.
