State President hosts Dutch, Azerbaijan ambassadors

VGP - State President Tran Dai Quang on September 21 received the Ambassadors of the Netherlands and Azerbaijan at separate receptions in Ha Noi.

State President Quang said it is essential to boost more cooperation with the Netherlands in ship building and called for further Dutch support in education, the environment, agriculture and water management.

The State President expected further comprehensive relations with the EU based on the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

He suggested both sides should step up cooperation in water resource management, agriculture, energy, logistics, judicial affairs as well as collaboration between their localities. 

Dutch Ambassador Nienke Trooster said her nation prioritises developing its relations with Viet Nam in the fields of economics, trade and investment, adding that it is also focusing on realizing its strategic partnership agreement with Viet Nam in agriculture, with the priority given to agricultural restructuring.

She pledged her utmost efforts to further solidify the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two nations.

Meeting with Azerbaijan  Ambassador AnarImanov, the Vietnamese State leader welcomed the establishment of the Viet Nam-Azerbaijan Joint Committee on Economic, Trade, Science and Technology Cooperation.

He called for more cooperation in oil and gas exploration between the two countries and directed an early opening of a Viet Nam Embassy in Azerbaijan.

State President Quang proposed studying and soon signing an agreement on education and training to further bolster cooperation in this field.

He also used the occasion to convey his invitation to visit Viet Nam to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. 

The Ambassador in turn highlighted the important role played by the Vietnamese people who used to study or work in Azerbaijan in reinforcing the traditional relations between the two countries. 

He said he hopes the first meeting of the inter-governmental committee, scheduled for this October, will open up new opportunities for broader cooperation in the future.-VOV
