State President greets new Japanese Ambassador

VGP – State President Tran Dai Quang was convinced that the upcoming visit of Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko would set a new hallmark in the bilateral ties.

State President Quang made the point on January 9 in Ha Noi while receiving Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam  Kunio Umeda and his spouse.  

Mr. Quang welcomed Ambassador Kunio Umeda who has recently undertaken his task in Viet Nam in the context that the strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan has flourished in almost all areas, especially politics, economics, and trade.

The host leader expressed his pleasure at the regular exchanges of delegation. Especially, Japan was one of the leading trade partners and ODA providers of Viet Nam.

Mr. Quang announced that he has instructed the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work with the Japanese side to prepare for the upcoming visit.

For his part, Ambassador Kunio Umeda and his spouse treasured the Vietnamese side for their good preparation for the visit and pledged to beef up bilateral coordination.

The guest leader took the occasion to seek support from Vietnamese organizations and offices to successfully complete his mission in Viet Nam and serve as a bridge to make the two countries closer./.
