The State President and his spouse arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal airport, Dhaka Capital on March 4.

The State President and his spouse were greeted by Bangladeshi President Mohammad Abdul Hamid with a 21-gun salute during an official welcome ceremony at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The visit takes place at a time when Viet Nam and Bangladesh are celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties. It affirms Viet Nam’s consistent external policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations, including the long-standing friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Bangladesh.

The visit is expected to blow a breath of fresh air into bilateral economic and trade relations. With many potential for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals and electronics, the two sides are striving to achieve the target of over US$1 billion in two-way trade.

Earlier the same day, State President Tran Dai Quang concluded up his three-day State visit to India. He sent a message of thanks to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, appreciating the warm welcome and sentiments the President, senior leaders and people of India have extended to him and the Vietnamese delegation./.
