State President addresses 2017 APEC CEO Summit

Viet Nam has joined hands with other economies in APEC to establish and launch a number of cooperative projects on human resources development in the digital era, develop enterprises, facilitate trans-border e-commerce, enhance digital and cyber economics and promote inclusive development in finance, economy and society, he said.
He stressed the goal of marking people and businesses as the center of the development.
The State leader proposed the business community in the Asia-Pacific continue making contributions to addressing three urgent issues with the Government.
Firstly, it is necessary to maintain the connection and recovery of the global economy, uphold the leading role in trade and investment liberalization, fulfill the Bogor goals by 2020 as well as accelerate public-private cooperation in developing infrastructure, connect supply-demand, new trade and investment chains.
Mr. Quang called on businesses to strengthen cooperation and assistance for their economies to invest in education and training, which is regarded as a foundation for enterprises to take full advantages of opportunities brought by globalization.
Secondly, APEC needs to make efforts in ensuring the coverage of development. The business community must uphold its social responsibilities and actively contribute to ensuring food-water-energy security, spread the spirit of business and start-up, increase women’s economic power and support micro-enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises to penetrate into the global market.

The State President stressed that in the upcoming time, Viet Nam will focus on completing its institution, policies and laws, protect the environment, expand business space, awake potentials of enterprises, and highlight the spirit of law compliance.
Mr. Quang asserted that the Vietnamese State and people treasure the support and cooperation of the APEC’s business community during its 30 years of renovation.
