The information was released at a press conference in Ha Noi on September 17 by State Auditor General of Viet Nam Ho Duc Phoc.

The event will help promote information exchange and collaboration in personnel training in the auditing field between the State Audit of Viet Nam (SAV) and its peers in the ASOSAI community.

The ASOSAI Assembly, which is held every three years, is the venue for all heads of ASOSAI member supreme audit agencies to discuss and decide on major issues, necessary documents, regimes, and policies to achieve the association’s objectives and further its development, he said.

It will also serve as a forum for sharing experience in the field of state audits, he noted.

Through the event, the SAV will also learn from the experience and strengths of audit institutions in developed countries, thus taking measures to improve its role and capacity in the time to come.

This year’s event, under the theme “Environmental Auditing for Sustainable Development”, will be the largest ASOSAI gathering to date, and is due to be held in Viet Nam for the first time. Its main events will take place on September19, 20, and 22 in Ha Noi. Sideline events will be arranged on September 17, 18, and 21 in the capital city and the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh.

The 14th Assembly of ASOSAI will also select the host of the 15th event, and elect the governing board and audit committee for the term of 2018-2021.

It will also approve the “Ha Noi Declaration” – the official document summarizing the most important working results of the event and reflects the commitment and action of the ASOSAI community for the organization’s development objectives for the 2016-2021 period, focusing on the sharing of knowledge among its supreme audit institutions.
