The commitment was made today, in Hà Nội, at the Meeting of donors in the banking field.

Deputy Governor of SBV Nguyễn Đồng Tiến revealed that SBV is carrying out a project to develop the banking system in Việt Nam toward 2010 and orientations to 2020, under the assistance of foreign sponsors.

Briefing positive macro-economic changes in Việt Nam in recent months - lower inflation rates, narrowing trade deficit, bigger FDI, stabilized markets of monetary and foreign currencies, and stable liquidity – Mr. Tiến stated that, in the coming time, SBV continues to apply monetary policies in a strict and flexible way in order to rein in inflation, prevent negative impacts of the global financial crisis and economic recession, stabilize macro-economy and maintain economic growth at reasonable rates.

The sponsors attending the meeting applauded SBV for its flexible management and promised to facilitate the sustainable development of the country’s banking sector.
