Son La's socio-economic development master plan approved

VGP - PM Nguyen Tan Dung has recently signed a decision approving a master plan on socio-economic development for the northern province of Son La by 2020.

October 31, 2013 10:02 PM GMT+7

Accordingly, the province’s average income per capita is expected to reach US$1,000 per year by 2015 and US$1,800 per year by 2020.

It will strive to achieve an average growth rate of 11.5% per year for the 2013-2015 period and 8.5% per year for the 2016-2020 period; a decrease of 2-3% in the percentage of poor households; electricity and safe water access by 98% and 90% of households, respectively.

Son La province has set to make breakthroughs in policies on hydro power tax, forest environment fee, as well as on support to production in mountainous areas and trade on major products.

It will also focus on human resource development and infrastructure development.

PM Dung asked the province to address effectively existing issues to improve people’s living standards and education, raise income, create more jobs, develop sound infrastructure and promote commodity-scale production./.
