Some 80 countries and territories to join the World Food Festival 2010

VGP – The World Food Festival 2010 under the theme “Taste the World” will be kicked off on July 21 in the coastal province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.

July 06, 2010 10:29 AM GMT+7

This is the first time Việt Nam hosts the World Food Festival

Some 80 countries and territories around the world are expected to join the event which will also be featured with a firework performance.

Key activities focus on five topics - gastronomy, culture, festival, shopping, and convalescence. There will also be a colorful street carnival.

The world’s top cooks, including Jan Cancook, will perform their outstanding cooking skills.

Organizers hope to bring visitors a unique chance to observe and enjoy the ever longest cuisine atmosphere of three kilometers along the Thùy Vân Beach. Large-size screens (32-40 square meters each) will be erected there for advertisements, introduction of different culinary cultures, and live broadcast of the event.

It is estimated that some 600,000-800,000 local residents and 100,000 international visitors will rush to the festival.
