All the latest patients have been quarantined after being identified as F1 individuals, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Of the national patient tally, 776 cases have been recorded in 13 cities and provinces since January when the third wave of local transmission began.

Among the aforesaid localities, Hai Duong is hit hardest with 596 cases, followed by Quang Ninh (60), Ho Chi Minh City (36), and Ha Noi (34).

The nation is placing 125,572 people under medical surveillance and quarantine nationwide. Of these, 594 are being kept at hospitals, 13,316 at concentrated quarantine sites, and 111,662 at places of residence.

So far, Viet Nam has detected four COVID-19 variants, namely D614G, B.1.1.7, B. 1.351, and A.23.1, the Ministry of Health said Friday.

To help citizens live safely with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health has called for effective implementation of its 5K message: Khau trang (facemask) – Khu khuan (disinfection) – Khoang cach (distance) – Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration).

The Government has decided to cancel festivals and religious activities in an attempt to contain local COVID-19 transmissions.

Meanwhile, importing COVID-19 vaccines became one of the Government’s foremost priorities within this month./.
