Seven localities report COVID-19 community infection cases
VGP – As of Wednesday morning, seven localities in Viet Nam have confirmed a total of 38 locally-transmitted cases since the first local infection was founded on April 27, ending the country’s ‘COVID-free’ status within over a month.

Over the past eight days, the community cases were recorded in seven localities including Ha Nam (14 cases), Ha Noi (four), HCMC (one), Vinh Phuc (14), Da Nang (two), HCMC (one), and Hung Yen (two).
The sources of transmission have been identified in the northern provinces of Ha Nam, Yen Bai and Vinh Phuc by the Ministry of Health.
Specifically, a 28-year-old man in Ha Nam tested positive for COVID-19 just a few days after he completed 14-day mandatory quarantine period in the central city of Da Nang. At least 20 other infection cases have been documented in four localities namely Ha Nam, Ha Noi, Hung Yen, HCMC, all linked to this man.
Meanwhile, a quarantine site in Yen Bai Province designated for isolating Chinese and Indian experts upon arriving in Viet Nam. Authorities also found that at least two Chinese nationals tested positive for the virus after undergoing 14-day quarantine there.
In the wake of rising number of local infections, the Ministry of Health ordered localities to continue quarantining all entrants who have completed 14-day mandatory quarantine, applicable from May 4 at both State and civilian quarantine sites.
Hai Duong Province, the epicenter of Viet Nam's third wave of community transmissions, became the first locality to impose 21-day quarantine period for all F1 individuals who come in direct contact with COVID-19 patients./.
