Those activities have created a strong motivation for Vietnamese investors to do business in the Cambodian market, said Chairman of the BIDV Board of Directors Trần Bắc Hà in a workshop under the theme “Talks between ministries and agencies of Cambodia and investors of Việt Nam” in Cambodia on August 16.

During the workshop, representatives of Cambodian ministries and agencies provided Vietnamese enterprises with information of mechanisms, policies and regulations on Cambodia’s foreign investment fields.

Vietnamese investors mainly paid attention to such fields as commercial cooperation, finance, agriculture, agricultural production, purchase of rice, mining, and tourism.

Especially, other related issues including tax policies, guidelines for companies’ operation, foreign labor, remittance, dispute resolutions, were put on the table as well.

Within the framework of the seminar, there were 11 business contracts and investment agreements inked between BIDV and the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC), enterprises of Việt Nam and their Cambodian partners.

Those documents, worth over US $400 million in total, will help raise Việt Nam’s registered investment capital in Cambodia up to over US $600 million.
