Speaking at the meeting, Mr. To Lam highlighted that struggling against terrorism is a long-term issue, asking for active, synchronous and responsible coordination from a number of nations.

He stressed Viet Nam’s viewpoint to seek for shared solutions for the issue, proposing relevant countries and the international community to join hands in addressing the issue, especially eliminating armed conflict, setting up peace and stability in military areas as well as enhancing cooperation in fighting against terrorism.

Some nations must end intervention activities causing political tensions and armed chaos at other nations to serve for their own strategic goals, regardless of huge consequences for related nations and the international community, he asserted.

The Vietnamese Minister hailed the meaning of the meeting, expecting to learn experience from the international partners, confirmed to share experience with other nations’ law enforcement agencies and international organizations in anti-terrorism.

He expected that the success of the meeting will promote close coordination between nations in struggling against crimes, contributing to ensuring peace, security and sustainable development in the world and each country.

The event, attracting the participation of representatives from 118 nations and the United Nations, focuses on discussing hot issues in fields of international and regional security, especially in the context of increasing and unexpected conflicts among nations.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Mr. To Lam met and held talks with Russian Secretary of the Security Council Patrushev and representatives from China, Laos, Mongolia, Venezuela and the Philippines.
