Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue (R) and Chairman of Samsung Viet Nam Complex Shim Won Hwan (L), Ha Noi, November 17, 2017

The Deputy PM made the point on November 17 in Ha Noi while receiving Chairman of Samsung Viet Nam Complex Shim Won Hwan.

Chairman Shim Wonhwan revealed that the expansion of Samsung’s factories in Viet Nam was advantageous. The group has earned US$ 44 billion of export turnover and expects to raise the figure to above US$ 50 billion.

So far, Samsung has recruited 160,000 workers. Nearly 29 Vietnamese enterprises joined the group’s first-grade supply chain. The number of businesses is expected to surge in the future, the Chairman added.

Addressing the reception, Deputy PM Hue expressed his pleasure to witness the development of Samsung Viet Nam with effective projects in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen provinces and HCMC. So far, Samsung has been the largest FDI investor in Viet Nam with a total investment of US$ 17 billion.

The host leader hailed the group for raising localization rate; calling upon Samsung to recruit over 35-year-old Vietnamese female laborers and early implement a research development center in Viet Nam.

Ms. Hue hoped that Samsung would set an example of connecting Vietnamese enterprises with foreign investors; thus promoting Viet Nam’s auxiliary industries.

The Government affirmed the host leader will provide positive support for the group in favor of win-win benefits.

The Deputy PM also expressed his hope that Samsung would broaden other types of businesses including telecom, infrastructure investment, energy, and payment companies./.
