SMEs get legal assistance

VGP – The Government has recently issued Decree 55/2019/ND-CP on legal assistance for Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The decree regulates legal assistance for SMEs, obligations of ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and local authorities, relevant organizations and individuals on legal assistance for SMEs. 

The assistance must ensure focuses, deadlines, ability to balance resources, transparency and efficiency.   

The legal assistance activities for SMEs are conducted on the basis of cooperation among State agencies and representative organizations of SMEs. 

SMEs applying for legal assistance will be prioritized if they have female owners; employ more female laborers; and use over 30% of handicapped laborers.

The State encourages, supports, and creates favorable ways for agencies, organizations, enterprises, and individuals to provide legal assistance for SMEs and mobilize social resources for the process. 

The Decree shall take effect from August 16, 2019./.
