Russian, French media hail VN’s successful responses to COVID-19
VGP - Foreign media praised Viet Nam’s different coronavirus picture with low infection rate, high number of recovered patients, and no fatality in comparison with other countries.
“Russian Spring” - rusvesna.su ran an article “Vietnamese miracle - how a brave nation defeats a terrible pandemic,” affirming that Viet Nam has been one of the most successful examples in the world in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
The country makes a difference with low infections (over 260 positive cases), high number of cured patients (over 200), and especially no fatality despite a highly-densely population of about 100 million, high population density, and sharing border lines with complicated disease regions.
The author attributed the success to early engagement of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Government.
It quoted a calling of the Party chief “Each citizen must be a soldier in the battlefield against the disease” and a direction of the PM “ “Fighting the nCoV-caused disease is like fighting an enemy.”
The newspaper also hailed the information transparency among the Government and people that resulted in fewer infection cases, selective testing policy, and effective performance of the public health system.
Paris-based daily news “Le Figaro” on April 19 also posted an article, explaining the reasons of Viet Nam’s successful story on SARS-CoV-2 prevention from community spreading.
The article said that Viet Nam set a mirror in the fight against COVID-19 for western nations.
Instead of massive tests like the RoK, Viet Nam focuses on quarantine of infected people and contact tracking. The country also imposes a 14-day mandatory quarantine for all people on entry and mask wearing at public places./.
