Matvienko made the above statement during a phone conversation with top Vietnamese legislator Vuong Dinh Hue on Tuesday.
Vuong expressed thanks for Russia’s donation of 1,000 Sputnik V vaccine doses to Viet Nam earlier this year as well as its commitment to give priority to the Southeast Asian country to acquire 20,000 million Sputnik V vaccine doses.
The Government of Viet Nam set goal to have 150 million vaccine doses for its ongoing free vaccination program that has been deployed since March 8, 2020.
In a latest move, the Government launched a national COVID-19 vaccine fund to mobilize support and donations from domestic and foreign individuals and organizations to secure funding importation of foreign vaccines and research, development and production of domestic vaccines./.
