The RoK’s PM Lee Nak-yeon made that statement at his meeting with the Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc on September 26 in Ha Noi as part of his trip to Viet Nam to pay tribute to late State President Tran Dai Quang.

On behalf of the RoK’s Government and people, Mr. Lee Nak-yeon expressed deep sympathy over the passing of State President Quang.

For his side, Mr. Phuc expressed thanks to the messages of condolences sent from the RoK’s President Moon Jae-in and the visit made by the RoK’s PM to Viet Nam to attend the State Funeral of the Vietnamese State leader.

The host was delight at achievements made by the two sides, high-ranking delegations and exchanges, increasing political trust and people-to-people exchanges, which have become a crucial pillar in their relationship.

The Vietnamese Government and people are willing to coordinate with the RoK to boost the Strategic Partnership more extensively in line with the perceptions reached by their high-ranking leaders, especially the Viet Nam-RoK Joint Statement towards the future signed in March, 2018 as well as promote cooperative relations in all fields to achieve set targets.
