RoK takes lead in tourist arrivals in Thua Thien-Hue

VGP - According to the report of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, visitors from the Republic of Korea (RoK) accounted for one third of the 1.01 million foreign tourists to the central province of Thua Thien-Hue in the first half of this year.

The province, home to the capital of the last feudal dynasty in Viet Nam, welcomed a total of 2.38 million tourists in the period, a rise of 36.36 percent over the same period last year.

In the January-June period, Thua Thien-Hue raked in VND2.27 trillion (US$98a. 7 million) in tourism revenue. 

However, the province has yet to have major shopping centres and is currently lacking of Korean-speaking tour guides to serve holidaymakers from the RoK.

To attract more visitors, since the start of the year, the Thua Thien Hue tourism sector will obtain further achievements in 2018 and coming years, contributing to implementing the objective of the key program on tourism - services development in 2018 focusing on developing tourism as the flagship economic sector, the major tourism center of country and region, develop Hue brand as a Center of festivals and gastronomy, investment projects which are being developed in province and efforts of relevant departments and agencies.
