RoK keen to boost ties with VN

VGP - Minister of Industry and Trade (MoIT) Tran Tuan Anh said that the Vietnamese Government and the MoIT are very keen to bolster ties with investors, including investors from the Republic of Korea (ROK).

The minister made the remarks at a seminar between the MoIT and Korean enterprises which was jointly held by MoIT and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Ha Noi on November 26.

General Director of Samsung Viet Nam Choi Joo Hoexpressed his thanks for Vietnamese Government and MoIT for giving them favourable treatment and cooperation to enterprises in the process of ROK’s businessand investment in Viet Nam in recent times.

He noted that ROK enterprises in Viet Nam are happy because Viet Nam has successfully controlled the COVID-19 pandemic, creating favourable conditions for the operations of ROK enterprises in Viet Nam.

ROK hope to continue to receive support from the MOIT and pledge to strengthen cooperation with the ministry to contribute to promoting the development of industrial production and trade in Viet Nam towards strengthening the fruitful relations between Viet Nam and ROK, he added.

Minister of Industry and Trade (MoIT) Tran Tuan Anh emphasised that the Vietnamese Government and MoIT always creates favourable conditions for foreign businesses, including those from the Republic of Korea (RoK), to invest and expand operation in the country.

Minister Anh said that after 28 years since the establishment of the diplomatic ties with ROK, the relations between Viet Nam and ROK is developing better than ever in all areas.

ROK has become the leading trade and investment partner of Viet Nam and ROK enterprises has been making significant contributions to Vietnam’s export growth and trade surplus in recent years, he noted.

Minister Anh said that despite difficulties due to the COVID-19, the MoIT is a pioneer in supporting ROK experts to enter Viet Nam. The country has successfully brought more than 10,000 ROK experts to Viet Nam to work at FDI projects. They are extremely valuable human resources in ensuring the normal operation of FDI factories and projects in Viet Nam.

He noted that ROK enterprises can take advantage of favourable conditions in Viet Nam, particularly the control of the pandemic, to restore and promote production in Viet Nam.

The seminar was co-organised by MoIT and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), saw the presence of ROK Ambassador to Viet Nam Park Noh Wan along with representatives of more than 30 large ROK corporations that are operating in Viet Nam./.
