The signing of the MoU marks an important milestone in bilateral collaboration to promote a culture of safety at the workplace via preventing occupational accidents and diseases.

Under the deal, the Korean side will help MoLISA build its capacity in occupational safety and health. It will promote safety culture at workplace in both countries through the establishment of cooperative relations between the two agencies.

MoLISA and KOSHA will exchange experts on training and consultancy in the fields of mutual concern as well as share training equipment, information and technical documents. The Korean side will also provide training in occupational safety and health for Viet Nam.

The cooperation will take place within three years until October 4, 2021.

Since 2003, the MoLISA has been carrying out coordination activities under a technical cooperation agreement on labour hygiene and safety with the RoK’sOccupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) and reaped significant outcomes.

The RoK government is supporting the MoLISA to implement a project enhancing development capacity of the occupational hygiene and safety training centre in Viet Nam.

The project was conducted by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with the engagement of the KOSHA for the 2013-2016 period and with a total budget of US$3.4 million.
