After the welcoming ceremony in Hà Nội on Sunday, top law-makers of Việt Nam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) held talks.

Mr. Kim Hyong O affirmed that the RoK legislative body will prioritize issues relating to the Việt Nam–RoK ties.

He praised Việt Nam as the leading partner of the RoK, revealing that Korea will raise its ODA for keynote partners, including Việt Nam.

Expressing his gratitude to Việt Nam for its support to the peace process and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Speaker Kim Hyong O hoped that the two countries will consolidate their coordination on multilateral forums, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

For his part, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng stated that Việt Nam and the RoK have many similarities and their bilateral relationship is flourishing vigorously, especially in economics.

The RoK is now one of biggest investors in Việt Nam, conducting over 2,000 projects worth of US $16 billion in total.

The two-way trade turnover reached US $8.85 billion last year and will be raised to US $20 billion by 2015.

At the talks, the two sides showed their resolve to put into reality all agreements inked between the two legislative bodies, boost up the exchange of delegations, information and experience, so as to contribute to the relationship between the two nations.
