The aim of the research is to identify infection frequency in high-risk groups and dangerous agents, so as  to establish strategies preventing bird flu in human beings. The project will be carried out until September 2010.
NIHE and HJF Inc. signed the Agreement with their partners World Bank and Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences. Besides, the National Institute of Health and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, two agencies of the US Department of Health and Human Services also sponsored this project.
The cooperative project will present necessary information in order to study the complication of different categories of influenza so that Việt Nam and other partners all over the world will map out better solutions to prevent and control bird flu as well as influenza epidemic, affirmed the US Ambassador to Việt Nam, Mr. Michael W. Michalak.

He also encouraged US health specialists to coordinate with their colleagues in NIHE and other health research organizations in Việt Nam.
