Repatriation of remains of U.S. servicemen

VGP - A repatriation ceremony of remains of U.S. servicemen who died during the war in Viet Nam was held at Da Nang International Airport on September 17.

This is the 145th hand-over of American missing servicemen’s remains since 1973.

The Vietnamese side’s representatives handed over to the U.S.side a set of remains found by joint and unilateral excavation teams during the 132st Joint Field Activities from July to September 2018.

Speaking at the ceremony, the U.S. Government’s representative expressed thanks and highly aprpaised the humanitarian policy, good-will, and full and efficient cooperation of the Vietnamese Government and people.

Representatives from the Board of Directors of Viet Nam Office for Seeking Missing Personnel (VNOSMP) and the U.S. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency and the U.S. MIA Office in Ha Noi joined the event.
