Quang Ninh hosts banquet for WEF ASEAN 2018 attendants

WEF President Borge Brende delivered a speech at the event, expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome.

For his part, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Long noted Quang Ninh is continuously calling for domestic and foreign investment, expressing his hope that investors attending WEF ASEAN will be interested in the locality.

Quang Ninh is committed to providing the best support to investors, he affirmed.

The province is promoting its potential and advantages, especially conserving and upholding the value of the World Natural Heritage - Ha Long Bay, as well as its historical and cultural relic sites and natural tourism destinations, towards turning it into a tourist center of the world.

Long stressed that after the WEF ASEAN 2018, Quang Ninh will implement the commitments of the Vietnamese Government, aiming to truly  become a growth pole of Viet Nam and attract more investors.

Quang Ninh is located 130 km northeast of Ha Noi. It is described as the most important and vibrant trade gateway of Viet Nam with China, and other ASEAN member nations. The locality is identified as a growth momentum of the north.

In recent years, Quang Ninh has mobilized resources to invest in three strategic breakthroughs, focusing on modernizing socio-economic infrastructure; accelerating administrative reform and e-Government development; and improving the quality of human resources to meet the province’s development strategy.

As scheduled, WEF ASEAN 2018 delegates will visit Ha Long Bay on September 14 as part of their activities in Quang Ninh.-VNA
