Qatar Airways to launch direct flights to Da Nang

VGP - Qatar Airways will launch direct flights to Da Nang, starting on December 19, 2018. The beautiful coastal city will be the third Vietnamese destination on the award-winning airline's rapidly expanding global network.

October 02, 2018 12:05 PM GMT+7

Accordingly, Qatar Airways will launch a direct air route from Doha to Da Nang starting on December 19 this year. It will offer four flights a week using aircraft B787 Dreamliner.

Additionally, the four-times weekly flights will be served with a Boeing 787-8 aircraft, featuring 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class.

The airline will support promoting the city’s tourism, investment and trade on its media channels in one month since the route launch. It will also coordinate with Da Nang to organise farm and press trips from potential markets in Europe and the Middle East to the city and build a communication plan to popularise the air route.

Doha is a major transit point of international routes, so the opening of direct flights from Doha to Da Nang is expected to help the Vietnamese city attract more trade partners, investment and tourists from the Middle East, Africa, the U.S. and Europe.

Qatar Airways began direct services to Ho Chi Minh City in 2007, and launched its Ha Noi service in 2010.

Currently, the airline provides twice-daily direct flights to Viet Nam’s capital city and 10 times weekly flights to Ho Chi Minh City. In October 2017, Qatar Airways announced its interline partnership with Viet Nam-based Vietjet Air, allowing Qatar Airways’ passengers to travel to and from points in Viet Nam not served directly by Qatar Airways using a single reservation across both airlines’ networks.
