PM highlighted orientations for relationship with China
 
PM Nguyen Tan Dung highlighted the combination of cooperation and struggling in orientations for the relationship between Viet Nam and China at the National Assembly (NA)’s question-and-answer-session.
 
The PM initiated that we need to maintain peace and cooperation in the relations with China to bring benefits for both and deal appropriately with disputes.
 
The PM noted that on behalf of the Vietnamese Government he stressed the standpoint at all the meetings held within the framework of the 25th ASEAN Summit in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
 
Minister explains labor issues to NA

Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen joined a Question and Answer session during the ongoing 8th session of the 13th legislature.

Chuyen answered NA deputies’ questions about the situation and solutions to businesses’ violations of the Labor Code, the management of foreign workers, unemployment, job creation, the quality of Vietnamese workers and social subsidies.

VN, Italy exchange judicial experience
 
A Vietnamese delegation from the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform led by deputy head Le Thi Thu Ba has visited Italy to inquire about the country’s judicial activities.
 
Ba introduced the court system and the outcomes of judicial reform in Viet Nam, especially since the Politburo issued Resolution No 49 on judicial reform strategy until 2020, and the 2013 Constitution was adopted.
 
Vice President of Italy’s Supreme Judiciary Council Giovanni Legnini hailed the judicial reform process of Viet Nam and the role of the Steering Committee for Judicial Reform in this process, as well as the humanity of the Viet Nam judicial system.
 
 
UNICEF helps VN improve environmental sanitation
 
A programme on environmental sanitation jointly carried out by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Ministry of Health in Viet Nam since 2009 has contributed to raising public awareness of using hygienic toilets and giving up the indiscriminate defecation habit.

The programme has implemented in over 900 villages in seven provinces nationwide, benefiting 184,000 rural households with more than 220,000 children. As many as 125 villages have been recognised as those with hygienic household toilets.
 
 
Russia, VN bolster auditing cooperation

A Vietnamese delegation led by Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Vietnam Nguyen Huu Van has just concluded a working visit to Russia.

At a meeting with Tatyana Golikova, chair of the Audit Chamber, Russia’s independent state budgetary watchdog agency, Van told his host that Viet Nam is hopeful of learning from Russia’s practical experience.

Both sides expressed their willingness to expand cooperative relations in training auditing officials and reached an agreement on retraining Vietnamese officials.
 
 
Binh Duong expects trade surplus of $4 billion
 
The southern province of Binh Duong is expected to gain a trade surplus of $ 4 billion by the end of 2014.

This year, provincial export turnover is predicted to hit $17.741 billion, up by 17.5% compared to last year, with the foreign-invested sector making up 82% of the total export value.
 
Binh Duong, together with Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Long An and Tien Giang provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, form Viet  Nam’s southern key economic region.
