PM Dung applauds Italian diplomat’s contributions
 
PM Nguyen Tan Dung has spoke highly of outgoing Italian Ambassador Lorenzo Angeloni’s contributions to stepping up Viet Nam-Italy cooperation at a reception in Ha Noi.

Dung expressed his pleasure at the growing bilateral ties in various realms especially after both sides established a strategic partnership- a highly important step of development in bilateral ties.

Ambassador Lorenzo Angeloni, for his part, pledged to maximize his efforts to further cooperation with Viet Nam in all fields, notably economics, trade, investment, culture and education.
 
Former British PM Tony Blair visits VN
 
Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai thanked formerPM of the Great Britain and North Ireland Tony Blair for his contributions to fostering Viet Nam-UK cooperation, while welcoming him in Ha Noi.

Hai told the guest that he is delighted at the extensive and efficient development of the Viet Nam-UK strategic cooperative partnership in numerous fields, affirming that Viet Nam always treasures and exerts every effort to enhance the ties.
 
For his part, Blair expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government will make it easier for UK enterprises to intensify investments in the country.
 
Lao Vice State President welcomes Vietnamese delegation
 
Lao Vice State President Bounnhang Volachith received a Vietnamese delegation led by Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang in Vientiane, Laos.
 
Lao Vice State President Bounnhang Volachith pledged to encourage close coordination between Laos and Vietnamese agencies to reap future benefits for both nations and people.

Laos, VN sign new trade deal
 
Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang and his Lao counterpart Khemmani Pholsena signed a new cooperation agreement superseding the one that has been in effect since 1998.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Vientiane, Minister Hoang said it lays the foundation for a heightened trade between the two countries in line with their fullest potential.

Seafood, agro-forestry exports valued at $1.78 bln in February

Viet Nam earned an estimated $1.78 billion from exports of agro-forestry-fishery products in February, and around $4.18 billion for the first two months of 2015, a year-on-year decline of 1.9%.

Of the figure, farm produce exports were valued at $1.87 billion, down 5.3%, while exports of seafood generated $907 million, an annual decline of 9.4%, and only forestry product exports saw an increase of 7.9% to $989 million.

Can Tho expands collaboration with India

India and the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho look to expand their collaboration in garment and textiles, tourism, pharmaceuticals and high-tech agriculture.

The four focus sectors were determined during a working session between Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Le Hung Dung and Indian Ambassador in Viet Nam Shrimati Preeti Saran.

According to Can Tho’s Investment-Trade-Tourism Promoting Centre, export revenue to India reached nearly $370,000 in 2014. The city imported over $11.5 million worth of material products such as pharmaceuticals, fabrics, and chemicals.

Third int’l conference advertising Vietnamese literature opens in VN

About 500 Vietnamese writers, poetsand translators along with another 151 guest deputies from around the world are gathering at the third international conference to promote Vietnamese culture, which was opened in Ha Noi.

The conference, themed ‘Vietnamese literature: a brilliant symbol of people’s desire for independence, freedom and happiness’, remains one of the three large literary events taking place in early March.

Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education Vu Ngoc Hoang highlighted that the conference is an event of peace, contributing to spreading human values from many countries and continents in the world.
