State President bids farewell to Belarusian ambassador

Viet Nam will continue to attach importance to developing friendship and cooperation with its traditional friends, including Belarus, State President Tran Dai Quang told Belarusian out-going Ambassador Valery Sadokho on July 5.

During their meeting in Hanoi, the President called on the two countries to effectively actualize the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to which Belarus is a member, together with Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.

Belarus will set up two businesses assembling automobiles and specialized vehicles in Viet Nam in order to meet the demands of the Vietnamese market and regional countries, the ambassador noted.

Chairmen of four provinces named

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has signed decisions to approve the high-ranking personnel of Da Nang city and the provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Hau Giang in the 2016-2021 tenure.

Circulars issued to simplify administrative procedures in banking system

The State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) has issued 14 circulars to eliminate many business conditions in banking prior to the enactment of the Law on Investment and Law on Enterprises which began  on July 1.

These circulars were expected to help banks save time and expenditures on administrative procedures to improve business effectiveness.

VN’s businesses encouraged to expand operation in Japan

The Foreign Investment Agency (FIA), under the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) co-organized a seminar on investment and business opportunities in the Japanese market on July 5.

Speaking at the event, head of the FIA Do Nhat Hoang announced that the Vietnamese businesses have poured US$9 billion in 1,000 projects overseas, of which US$ 5 billion was disbursed.

The FIA commits to creating favorable conditions, reducing administrative procedures and encouraging the Vietnamese enterprises to invest overseas.

Viettel invests US$ 50 million in AAE-1 in Vung Tau

The Viettel Group has poured US$ 50 million in the Asia-Africa-Europe 1 (AAE-1) cable to be connected to the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The AAE-1 will come into operation at the end of 2016, which is expected to contribute to Viettel’s international connection infrastructure and meet the strong development of the Internet in Viet Nam as well as serve for connecting with African nations.

CBU cars import exceeds US$1 bln in H1

Viet Nam imported 49,000 CBU (Completely Built Up) cars, worth US$1.184 billion in the first half of the year.

The CBU car import in six months saw respective declines of 11.2% in number and 21.2% in value compared to the same period last year.

Maritime Bank wins Best Commercial Bank 2016

The Maritime Commercial Join Stock Bank (Maritime Bank) has won the 2016 International Finance Magazine (IFM) award for Best Commercial Bank in Viet Nam.

The Best Commercial Bank in Viet Nam 2016 award was based on the following criteria: annual growth, diversification of products, contributions to market and evaluations of partners and customers.
