PM asks to accelerate reform in customs procedures

The PM has asked to review the current legal document system to reduce unsuitable administrative procedures to ensure an open business environment and facilitate business activities in accordance to international regulations. 
 
The PM’s conclusion at the meeting on administrative reform in customs has been announced, in which the heads of ministries are required to be responsible for the implementation of the administrative reform. 
 
The PM also highlights the cooperation and communication between ministries and sectors as they work towards tackling difficulties in the implementation as quickly as possible.
 
The PM called for development in customs agencies, mobilize social resources for equipping and carry out some public services on customs.
 
VN opposes Chinese reef expansion in Truong Sa
 
Responding to questions from reporters about Viet Nam's reaction the April 9 speech by Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Hua Chunying about the expansion of underground reefs in Truong Sa, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Hai Binh at regular press briefing in Ha Noi said “Regarding this issue, Viet Nam has repeatedly communicated with China including at senior levels. Once again we declare Viet Nam has sufficient legal basis and historical evidence validating its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands.”

China, VN beef up defence cooperation
 
Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkunis on a working visit to Viet Nam from April 16-17 at the invitation of Public Security Minister General Tran Dai Quang.
 
The two Ministers said the visit was a milestone in bilateral cooperation. The two leaders signed a plan to implement the Memorandum of Understanding of the 4th Ministerial Meeting on preventing and combating crime.
 
The document specifies that both countries will continually share information in crime prevention and combating to ensure security in each country, foil sabotage schemes by hostile, reactionary forces and criminals, and guarantee safety for their leaders and bilateral diplomatic activities.

RoK re-signs MoU to receive more Vietnamese workers

As many as 2,900 Vietnamese workers will be sent to the Republic of Korea (RoK) to work in fieds of manufacturing, construction and agriculture.

The Vietnamese Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the RoK’s Minister of Employment and Labor re-signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on reception of Vietnamese laborers to the RoK’s Employment Permit System (EPS) program, the Department of Guest Worker Management said on April 15.

The re-inked MoU reflects efforts of Viet Nam in reducing the number of illegal Vietnamese workers in the RoK.

The previous MoU expired on December 31, 2014.

Da Nang remains 1st in PCI rankings

The central city of Da Nang maintained the 1stposition in Viet Nam’s annual Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2014.

This information was released by the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) at a meeting held in Ha Noi.

This is the fourth time that the city has topped this rankings. According to the analysis of the PCI’s researchers, the city launched effectively “The year for Businesses 2014” program and facilitated businesses' development by speeding up the administrative reform and tackling obstacles for the business community.

VN attends Seoul Seafood Show 2015

More than 130 seafood businesses from around the globe, including Viet Nam attended the Seoul Seafood Show 2015 from April 15 to April 17 to introduce seafood processing products and services. 

The event featured technological procedures in the areas of aquaculture, processing, packaging, preservation and food safety and hygiene.
 
The event gave local businesses a good chance to promote their advantageous products and seek Korean partners to further integrate into a new potential market.
