Press contributes to diplomatic success, says FM
VGP – The press made positive contributions to diplomatic success in 2017 especially the APEC Viet Nam 2017, said Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh.

Mr. Minh made the assessment while meeting with press agencies on the threshold of the Lunar New Year Festival on February 1, 2018.
APEC serving to raise Vietnamese press
Deputy PM Minh stressed that 2017 was an extremely successful year of Viet Nam in almost all sectors from politics, economics, society, and diplomacy. Especially, diplomatic field was highly hailed by the international media.
Mr. Minh attributed the press to the Vietnamese diplomatic success. Noticeably, the APEC Viet Nam 2017 was extremely successful thanks to the press.
Last year, tens of diplomatic events were held nationwide with the presence of press agencies.
According to the Deputy, during the APEC Summit Week, Vietnamese press agencies posted over 4,500 valuable news, thus contributing to bringing Vietnamese images to international friends.
Standing by diplomatic events
In 2017, Viet Nam welcomed a large number of high-ranking delegations, said Mr. Minh.
He also lauded the press for converging special official visits especially of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President, Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump.
The press also served overseas Vietnamese representative offices on citizen and fishermen protection./.
