In 2019, the bilateral trade value set a new record of US$3.6 billion and Viet Nam welcomed 37,000 Swiss arrivals.

The President’s upcoming visit to Switzerland will create an opportunity for both sides to ways to foster bilateral cooperation, including the signing of a free trade agreement between Viet Nam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) consisting of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
