President Trong hosts banquet for Indian counterpart

VGP – Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his belief that the Viet Nam-India relations would continue to blossom and reach new heights in the future, while hosting a banquet for President of India Ram Nath Kovind, his spouse and the high-level Indian delegation in Ha Noi on November 20.

Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong hosts a banquet for Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.

In his speech, President Trong hailed the Indian guest’s visit to Viet Nam as a vivid reflection of the fine traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Vietnamese people always admire India, one of the cradles of human civilization and the starting place of Buddhism and Hinduism, the State leader said, adding that the Indian people are writing new glorious historical pages with a lot of superior achievements in terms of politics, economy, defence, science and technology, making India become one of the leading economies in the world with an increasingly high regional and global position.

Recalling his good memories of India and its people during his visits to the country as the Chairman of the National Assembly (in February 2010) and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (in November 2013), Party General Secretary and President Trong voiced his wish that the two sides would strive to encourage their younger generations to strengthen connectivity and further deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.

The host said he believed that with the determination and consensus of leaders and the people of the two countries, the fine traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and India will continue to thrive.
