President Nguyễn Minh Triết visits Xiangkhoang at end of Laos visit

VNGOVNet – At the end of his official visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on 7 February, President Nguyễn Minh Triết, his wife and the Vietnamese senior delegation made a trip to Xiangkhoang bordering Vietnam's Nghệ An Province.

Bidding farewell to each other before the Vietnamese President's journey to Xiangkhoang, General Secretary, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Choumaly Sayasone and President Nguyễn Minh Triết were delighted at the success of the latter’s visit that, they extolled, has made the traditional friendship, special unity and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos stronger in line with the two peoples’ desire for peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Visiting and working with leaders of Xiangkhoang Province, President Nguyễn Minh Triết insisted that Vietnamese people are committed to assist Laos in building their country. The President promised to urge Vietnam’s provinces on the border with Laos to further relationship and cooperation with their respective neighbors on the other side. In the same day's afternoon, President Nguyễn Minh Triết called at the Khang Khay Teachers Training College which produce college and junior college teachers for northern Laos.

While in Laos, President Nguyễn Minh Triết presented Louang Namtha Province VND3 billion VND; Xiangkhoang Province VND2 billion; and the Khang Khay College VND1 billion to build educational and training establishments./.
