Preferential import tariff for goods originating from Greenland

It is the instruction issued by the General Department of Viet Nam Customs concerning the imposition of import taxes on commodities from  Greenland, after consulting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade on the issue.

Accordingly, Greenland has a legal status as an autonomous region within the Kingdom of Denmark. As Denmark has accepted agreements of the World Trade Organisations (WTO), duties and rights embraced in these agreements, including the MFN treatment, will also be applied to Greenland.

Therefore, Greenland-originated goods items will enjoy preferential import tariff following the King of Denmark’s MFN agreement in trade relations with Viet Nam.

Imports originating from the countries, which have accorded MFN status to Viet Nam, will be eligible for preferential taxes if they have not yet been included in the list of goods subject to tax reduction as committed by Viet Nam.
