VGP – The ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat opened in the coastal city of Nha Trang, central province of Khanh Hoa on January 17, under the chair of Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

At the meeting, ASEAN foreign ministers discussed and reached a consensus on some major issues related to the implementation of the outcomes of the 35th ASEAN Summit, ASEAN’s focuses and priorities in 2020, and the bloc’s foreign affairs.

During its ASEAN Chair tenure, Viet Nam will facilitate a number of priorities, including promoting ASEAN’s active role and contributions to the maintenance of a peaceful, secure and stable environment in the region and promoting regional links and connectivity.
